NOTD: Bubble Trouble

Hey guys! I snatched up this bottle of Revlon Bubble at Target yesterday. It was a steal as it was already clearanced down to $3.17 and then I had a $1.00 coupon on top of that. Woot woot!


I really like this shade of pink... it seems a little more purplely in my pictures but it's not. Revlon got hot pink right on this one in my opinion. The shade is purely pink but it's not neon looking like a lot of hot pinks are, so it compliments my fair skin instead of washing it out.



I called this post Bubble Trouble because I had some trouble with my design. From a distance, my flower looks like an eyeball, lol. I think it has something to do with the Seche Vite taking the detail out of the gem in the middle... it went from a little sparkly stone to a black blob. Ugh.

Which leads me to ask, what do you guys use to attach your embellishments?

NOTD: I like Pina Colada...

... and getting caught in the rain!~ Not really. I hate getting caught in the rain but it fit with the polish name, lol.

I picked up a couple of new polishes at Walgreen's the other day and one of them is from Revlon's new Fizz scented polish collection. This color is called Colada Fizz and it's a pretty pale blue sheer glitter that smells UH-MAY-ZING. Seriously, it's so coconutty and yummy! I've caught myself sniffing my nails several times since I put it on, lol. I layered it over Essie Licorice since it's so sheer. Love it!~

NOTD: Stormy Silver Lining

I was in a bit of a rush so I just a simple mani today... Revlon Top Speed in Stormy with Kiss Nail Artist Paint in silver glitter.



Nothing fancy... I just did a silver starburst type patter on my thumb and ring fingers on each hand.

NOTD: Manicure Overload!

I thought I'd share these three manicures together since aren't really anything special. I tend to use an abstract design on my ring finger when I'm in a hurry but want my nails to look decent. I've also been neglecting my cuticles and I have a few stubby nails, lol. That's the price I pay for being clumsy.

First up, we have Revlon Mon Cherry. This is one of the scented polishes and it really does smell like cherries once it dries. I thought it was cute and it wore well. Application was easy-peasy. I used SecheVite on top and I could still smell the cherry goodness so I'd dare to say that it may have a stronger scent if you leave the top coat off. For the design, I used my Kiss Nail Artist polishes again. I highly recommend them for super-quick freehand designs like this!


Next up, we have the wedding nails... T's colors were malibu blue and fuchsia so to keep up with that theme, all the girls got matching pedicures using OPI Koala Bear-y and had designs painted on using white and bright blue. When I got done at the salon, I headed over to Ulta to pick up a bottle for touch ups in case we dinged our toes-es. I did my own fingernails using the same color. I didn't want to do anything over the top so I just did the same design as before and switched out the black for blue. Simple yet pretty!



And now for the last one... while I was at Ulta, I went a lil' polish crazy and picked up a few lot of various colors that I didn't need. (including a clearanced OPI Suede that I can't wait to try!) One of my impulse buys was a bottle of OPI Skull and Glossbones. I really like this color! I've always been a fan of unique nudes/neutrals and this one is definitely a winner. I generally find that I need at least 3 coats for light colors like this but surprisingly, it only took two thin coats to get full coverage. I ended up doing a third because, again, I'm clumsy and I ended up mushing the polish on my middle finger and I tried to even it back out instead of taking it all off but you can totally see the lump in my nail, lol. Oh well!

I painted the design using a liner brush with Essie Smooth Sailing (I was trying to keep things nautical, lol) and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Whirlwind White. Then I made the dots using my Kiss Nail Artist black. Simple. ♥

NOTD: The Storm Came Rolling In

I tried Revlon's Top Speed in Stormy today and let me tell you, my manicure was very apropos for the weather. We've had these ominous looking dark storm clouds hanging heavy overhead all day. I kept waiting for the bottom to fall out but thankfully it never happened; we only had a light shower here and there.

I would definitely say that the name Stormy is perfect.

I really like this polish! I know it's been out for several months now but this was my first time using Top Speed and the consistency is really great. I'm sad that I haven't tried it sooner! It slides on smooth and just kind of goes where it needs to without a lot of fuss and muss. I would describe the color as being "graype." Yeah, I thought that was clever when I first came up with it too but it's just corny now, lol. Anyway, it's a really nice medium shade of gray with purplish undertones. I used 2 coats and a top coat of SecheVite and I was completely set and dry in about 10 minutes. Awesome! So at under $5.00 a bottle, I would say it's a great value.


I also want to try some of the other colors in the Top Speed line... I'm thinking Hazy, Espresso, and Golden will be my next buys. Have you guys tried any these colors? What do you think about them?
