NOTD: A Case Study in Meh

I had this awesome idea for red glitter and tan nails. This is not it. I don't know what happened but my idea got lost in translation and I ended up with this wonky manicure. It's not horrible but I envisioned it differently... it's just kind of meh.

The base is Essie Case Study with Finger Paints Romanticism Ruby on the tips. Then I added a line of Sinful Colors Be My Valentine to divide the two colors a little better. I think a lighter base color might have helped... maybe Essie Jazz or Sand Tropez? Oh well... what do you guys think?

NOTD: Dandelion Puffs

A little while back, I came across an adorable dandelion manicure on tumblr and I finally got around to doing my own version. (The original is by MaD Manis... check them out!)





I used China Glaze For Audrey, Kiss Nail Artist Black, and Sinful Colors Nail Art White. It was very simple and literally took me less than 20 minutes from base coat to top coat. Awesome!~

NOTD: Star Spangled

I decided to go with "Old Glory" and I also went with the rustic flag stripes as suggested by Dani Rage. I changed the design a little bit by adding silver glitter tips and half-moons instead of the blue in the corner as a way to kind of pull the two designs together. I see some flaws here and there but overall, I like how they came out. I think I just need to practice painting stars and stripes, lol.


For the colors, I used OPI Dating a Royal, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Rapid Red, Sinful Colors Nail Art White, and Kiss Nail Artist Silver Glitter.

Drugstore Haul and Some Avon

As I was on the way to a baby shower on Saturday, I realized I didn't have a card for the mom-to-be. I stopped at a Walgreens to get one and I took a peek at the nail polish. I should know better... I ended up walking out with all of these. lol.

From left to right, Sinful Colors in Neon Melon, Dream On, and Frenzy.

In addition to my drugstore haul, I also got some polishes that came in from Avon on Thursday . I haven't bought any nail polish from them in about 7 or 8 years but I remember I liked them a lot. The bottles were different back then so I'm interested to see if they're the same as before or if the formulas have changed with the bottles.

From left to right, SpeedDry Mink, Nailwear Pro Sunshine, and SpeedDry Mambo Melon.

I'm really looking forward to trying out all of these and I'm seeing some great color combos here. I've been brainstorming some ideas and can't wait to share them with you all. :o)
